Built in Victoria BC in 1978 by the present day owner, THANE is a 17m (55') OA gaff rigged ketch.  She is fashioned out of recycled materials salvaged from industrial sites and character buildings. Heavily framed and planked in yellow cedar, she is modeled after Joshua Slocum's SPRAY, the first vessel to circumnavigate single-handed in 1895. Thane is Transport Canada approved to carry up 18 passengers.
